People travelling between Richmond and Motueka must be  prepared for travel delays following a crash near Mapua earlier today.

A two-vehicle crash was reported near Mapua Drive shortly before midday. 

The highway is currently closed to southbound traffic from near Dominion Road. The highway is open to north bound traffic.

Emergency services are at the scene and traffic delays can be expected in the area until the incident is resolved.

Southbound drivers should avoid the area and use an alternative route.
