A stretch of State Highway 35 between Potaka and Hicks Bay reopened at 9AM.

That section of road was closed overnight due to surface flooding and silt.

The surface flooding has now subsided.

Crews are continuing to monitor the network and you’re likely to see them on that stretch of road today cleaning up any debris.

Please continue to drive to the conditions and be alert to the possibility of surface flooding, slips and debris.
